Community Health Workers and Use of mHealth: Improving Identification of Pregnancy Complications and Access to Care in the Dominican Republic

A study from Health Promotion Practice assessing the feasibility and acceptability of the use of a community health worker-conducted mobile health intervention to improve pregnancy outcomes in the Dominican Republic. CHW-gathered data are sent to local physicians, who screen for signs of complications. The intervention is intended to improve prenatal health care access to poor and adolescent pregnant women.
