This project facilitates an exchange between Boston University and the Superemos Foundation, a social work organization based in Estelí, Nicaragua, in order to better integrate social work services into medical care. The project expands upon work by the BU global medical brigades, which place medical students in Nicaragua to provide critical health services. The project aims to assess the services provided by 86 medical brigades that arrive each year and expand  opportunities to incorporate trauma-informed care through collaborations with the Superemos Domestic Violence Program and other services to address trauma and child abuse.
