Results from a randomized control trial–As part of the Minority AIDS Initiative Retention and Re-Engagement in HIV Care Project, CAHPP staff evaluated the effectiveness of a peer-enhanced intervention at three clinic locations. They presented their findings at the Ryan White 2016 conference. Staff from partner Brooklyn PATH Center presented about their experience implementing the intervention and incorporating it into their clinic practice.

This video tells the story of one peer and one client who worked together to build a healing relationship to improve the client’s well-being and adherence to HIV treatment. In their own words, the peer and client relate how the client was restored to care and regained hope for the future. (In Spanish with English subtitles)

Peer Re-Engagement Project Enhanced Peer Intervention Manual, Teaming with Peers to Engage and Retain Hard-to-Reach Populations in Care: This manual describes the process created and refined to link and re-engage people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) of color in HIV primary care. It documents the intervention that was developed and implemented at three sites and provides a framework for future implementation of this model of an enhanced peer intervention. The appendices include sample work plan, job descriptions and other tools used in the intervention.

Proyecto de Reintegración de Pares, Manuel de Intervención de Pares Mejorada Creando un Equipo con los Pares para Integrar y Retener a las Poblaciones Difíciles de Alcanzar en el Cuidado: Este manual describe el proceso creado y refinado para enlazar y reintegrar a las personas de raza negra que viven con VIH/SIDA (PLWHA, por sus siglas en inglés) en el cuidado primario del VIH. El documenta la intervención de pares mejorada que fue desarrollada e implementada en tres centros y provee un marco de trabajo para implementación futura de este modelo de una intervención de pares mejorada.

This five-day curriculum provides training materials and instructions train HIV-positive peers to support patients with care and treatment in your community. It was developed as part of the Peer Re-Engagement Project (PREP) evaluating a program that brings HIV-positive peers into the HIV care team to support patients who have fallen out of care or who are newly diagnosed with HIV and at risk of falling out of care.

Un currículo de capacitación de pares de cinco días para integrar a las personas con VIH que no reciben tratamiento, o que han sido diagnosticadas recientemente con VIH, al tratamiento. El propósito de este currículo es apoyar la capacitación de pares VIH positivos que trabajan para reintegrar y retener a las personas que viven con VIH/SIDA (PLWHA, por sus siglas en inglés) y que no reciben cuidado médico para el VIH, enlazar a las PLWHA recién diagnosticadas con el cuidado médico del VIH y mejorar la calidad general del cuidado relacionado con la salud de estas personas.
